California Dreamin' - Palm Springs

This day we explore to the east of the greater metropolitan areas of Los Angeles and Orange Counties.  Our journey will take us into the incredible California Desert!
But first our route will let us enjoy the lovely community of Lake Mathews- http://thelakemathewsnews.com/ -, and the town of Perris- http://cityofperris.org/ - a place where many go for Skydiving! On through the town of Hemet- http://www.cityofhemet.org/history/  - founded in 1887 on ancient Indian land. Following Highway 74 the "Palms to Pines Highway" and into the mile high San Bernardino National Forest and Mt. Jacinto State Wilderness. We will have a riding thrill as we twist our way up to where the tall pines, sweet smelling cedars, and Legendary rocks hide the wonderful mountain village of Idyllwild-  http://www.idyllwildcalifornia.com/
A great destination of itself- but today we will only be exploring its shops and cafes and absorbing the beautiful mountain atmosphere before finishing our climb over the mountains and descending down to the Coachella Valley below.
Palm Springs!   http://www.palmspringsusa.com/
A popular getaway for the rich and famous of southern California. Movie stars, mobsters, and Indians have all called this place home. With an average temperature of 87 degrees in April, we should find very pleasant riding here. A cruise down the main boulevard will show you the many shops galleries and theaters located in the downtown area. Next stop-
The Palm Springs Air Museum!   http://www.palmspringsairmuseum.org/
This truly incredible museum houses one of the worlds largest collections of World War 2 flying aircraft displayed in modern, well lighted, air-conditioned hangers. In addition to the many amazing planes, artifacts, and rare original combat photography, the museum is host to a library of 8500 volumes primarily related to aviation and American military history.
From here our days Adventure will turn back westbound with a planned stop at the Harley Davidson dealer of Palm Springs. Further west we will give our VIP guests an opportunity to shop the very popular Desert Hills Premium Outlet Malls in Banning, California- http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=6
Here you can buy up some of those favorite items you like- at discount prices!
The ride home from here will let us enjoy a nice bit of Highway 60 through the Moreno Valley before passing through Riverside on the way to Buena Park and our clean Hotel accommodations- http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/snabp-courtyard-anaheim-buena-park/
