Julian Day

This day of the California Dreamin' VIP Tour will take out and away from the busy cities via Santiago Canyon and into the Cleveland National Forest. We can pause at Cooks Corner- http://www.cookscorners.com/ - for a cup of coffee before rolling through the awesome area known as Live Oak Canyon. Here the ride seems almost like a fantasy as the mighty oak trees create a full canopy overhead leaving us on a tunnel-like ribbon of asphalt.
Next, only a few miles ahead, we ride the Ortega Highway.A long time favorite ride for southern California riders and everyone who visits here. High atop the Ortega's we will stop for a breathtaking view of Lake Elsinore from The Lookout Roadhouse- http://www.lookoutroadhouse.com/ -. A great place for a group photo! From here we ride down the mountain into the Temecula Valley. Here we will stop for lunch in the charming Old Town Temecula - http://www.oldtowntemecula.com/ - or if you are not hungry yet,  you just can explore this delightful little town. From here we will traverse across the Reservations of the Pachanga and Mission Indians as we skirt around Palomar Mountain, through Pauma Valley and on to Lake Henshaw where we will take a short pause a the Lake Resort- http://www.lakehenshawresort.com/ . After passing Santa Ysabel we will find the cozy little historic town of Julian just up ahead.

Home to the only "Gold Rush" in San Diego county, Julian is also famous for it's delicious apples and nearby wine vineyards! We will have plenty of time here to explore the town and try out "Moms Apple Pie"- a genuine delight for all visitors. As we leave this little town we head westward following Highway 78 all the way to Encinitas at the Pacific Ocean where we follow Interstate 5 north. Enjoy the Ocean view as we travel across Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base. This is a very active 125,000 acre military base and it is quite common to see Amphibious training going on, so do not be alarmed at the tanks, troops, and helicopters that we may encounter. Just north of the base we will re-enter Orange County and head for our deluxe accommodations in Buena Park, California-

This day will cover about 250 miles and it will put a smile on your face. But don't be too tired! We still have the night to live!
